He said you stood outside the choir room for more than twenty minutes before being invited inside to observe for almost two hours. Hearing this brought back memories of when you first started at Starlight Elementary School. At the time, I wanted you to join a club, particularly the choir, but you weren't interested. I didn’t give up, though. I believed that if you tried enough different things, you’d eventually discover what you truly loved.I vividly remember the day you auditioned for the choir. When the teacher asked if you could sing, you said no. And just like that, you didn’t make it. When we got home, I asked you more about what happened, and I knew deep down that I couldn’t give up either. I decided to message the choir teacher, Mrs. Zhang, and I told her how disappointed you were. I even sent her videos of you singing English songs and clips of your performances on TV. After seeing those, she agreed to give you another chance. And now, after a year in the choir, seeing how much you love singing truly moves me.This whole experience has made me realize that in life, we have to be brave enough to try. If we don’t, we’ll never know what we’re capable of or what we might come to love. Sometimes, taking that first step is all it takes to open doors we didn’t even know existed.I’m also incredibly grateful for your dad. But every time I watch you sing on stage, I imagine how amazing it would be if you could dance while singing, and combine that with the piano lessons your dad has been teaching you. So, I took the liberty of booking a trial class for you, and after giving it a shot, you realized you actually enjoy jazz dance too.Looking back, whether it’s swimming, basketball, tennis, badminton, or art classes, I’ve always encouraged you to try different things. My hope has always been for you to experience life and, through those experiences, find your true passions.I also remember how much you loved ballet when you were younger. We signed you up right away because it was something you really wanted. As the classes got harder, I could see the struggle on your face. There were times when you wanted to give up, and honestly, there were moments I thought we should let you quit. But your dad stood firm, and he didn’t let you walk away. Now, I’m so happy we made that decision because through ballet, you’ve learned that even the things we love can sometimes be challenging.
